The White Cross Inn is a small pub with a huge heart. Set in the tiny village of Groeswen overlooking Caerphilly town. It is one of a dying breed of old country pubs, but thanks to the enthusiasm of the local people who are passionate about the place and the a twist of fate that has brought it back to the hands of someone who loves it, The White Cross is alive and well. You will always have a warm welcome, a great choice of cask ales and great company.

Enter as strangers leave as friends!

The White Cross has a chequered history which I will one day research, the building dates back centuries (1750) but for the present it is the future that is of interest to everyone..

A pub needs people ..people need a pub!

The cask ales have rocketed with our Beerbellies Club and the little blue card..not to mention the ever changing great choice of ales!

The darts and pool teams have survived the years and the cricket team was revived. There are cards and dominos on the bar for those quiet moments!

Tuesday nights are certainly not quiet with a regular fun quiz..with the emphasis on the fun!..not for the feint hearted!

We do not serve meals, but we sometimes hold food events. See our facebook page for the latest details: https://www.facebook.com/TheWhiteCrossInnGroeswen. We do of course have crisps and nuts and pickled eggs etc. and we are always open to suggestions for your favorite pub snack!

The back room is available for all kinds of groups, meetings and parties.

We have a wonderful charity book shelf which recycles everyones old books at 50p each for changing charities and we have raised hundreds of pounds. I have no idea where the books come from or where they go the shelf always looks full.. but the charity boxes fill very quickly so they are definitely moving!

There are regular Spiritualist evenings which are very enlightening, Beerbellies evenings, occassional karaoke and live music evenings there are noisy evenings and cozy evenings..especially in the winter with the log fire, quiet evenings and busy evenings but one thing we never have is a dull evening the pub is full of Character and Characters and I hope one day you will pop in and join us.

Cheers
